    • @BeerBasher mine was a Barker Barrett creature. Had it a year then a Cab ran it over and split it in half. I worked in a sk8brd shop in manhattan in the ninetees. The internet killed alot of the sales. but the place is still around.

    • @PigVomit really?
i didnt take you as a skater PV.
I loved the 90s, i use to skate every day but then a broke my hip in 3 places.
I use to get free stuff from my local shop....kinda like a small sponser.
I dont think the net killed sales too much....every skater loves going into the shop to look at stuff.
You gota look at the decks in person to see if you like the shape ect ect...looking at a picture of your gear on the net isnt good enough.

    • @BeerBasher Nothing like touch and sight. I was a an art skool stater. went to all the punk shows and worked in the skate shop. we had a half pipe next to our chelsea store. and i built my little brother a ramp when the folks moved upstate. i think he was in middle school. but yeah, we 16 skate shops in nyc. a year after the internet we had 4 shops...so it definitely blew us out of the water.

    • @PigVomit Its strange how there isnt many pros in NYC, they all move to L.A because of the nice spots and the weather is better.
but i like watching NYC skating better...its rough and raw.
This time of the year would suck for new york skaters.
L.A is too clean and everyone is the same.
L.A controls most of the worlds skate market.
