as above ^^
Very cool. If this amazing toy was mine, I would change the paint job to look like T.C.'s helicopter from Magnum P.I..
That'd be wicked with a little HD camera on it.
Probably easier to control too.
ahh it wasnt THAT big
Cool toy, I bet it cost a lot of money in "oh shit" before you get that good at the controls.
For your own safety, don't use the word "toy" when speaking with RC enthusiasts.
That also applies to huge gas-guzzling vehicle or big badass gun lovers and it's simply called the Tiny Penis Syndrome by most of the girls who know much better than that (brainless redneck blondes are an exception).
@timerider2009 I have seen some really cool rc copters at a park near my house and it's amazing what they can do with them. When my son was about five he wanted one so we went to the hobby shop near our house and as soon as I saw the price tag we went too Toys R Us and bought him a slew of G.I. Joes and all the accesories that he thought he needed, I walked away cheap compared to this hobby. It is alot of fun to go watch these guys that know their toys and how to fly them though, not a bad way t More..o spend a Saturday afternoon. Less..
@Zipperneck1321 Good advice and well taken, thanks
@ARNOLD-R-LANE or to chase kids off lawn!
That is cool!
I think if I were to spend that much on that helicopter I would have put on a scale head rather than the bell-hiller he's got on there. Flies worse for RC but just doesn't look right with that and the small rotor blades.
@jeru Yeah, the newer flybarless rotor heads look much more realistic.
Hot like the sun.
He should mount an HD video camera and take some vids.
why not 2 more helix (like the recent helicopters) instead that inaccurate turbine ?
I've seen bigger and better! This is small... dude, surf the net and you'll find a big one. I got a big one! lol
Will he cry when it crashes?
id put a cat in it.
Looks like great fun!
But one false move (or gust of wind), and he is out big bucks.
I wish him well.
@skyhawk53 Proper rich boys toys, thats why I never took it beyond a raptor 30 size heli, too depressing when they eat the earth after hours of fine tuning the setup.
I hear you.
Should have 5 main rotor blades and no flybar. Still a beautiful chopper.
Nice but its just a shame its not a bit more authentic, on the real thing this Hughes helicopter has four rotor blades not two.
this vid needs the magnum theme on it!
Could a person who flies a RC Helo also fly a real Helo?
@usboss To fly one of these is very demanding. You have cyclic collective, throttle, and rudder to control with a remote control, which usually equates to two sticks and some nifty mixing of the various parameters, The Small fixed-pitch helicopters need a 4-channel radio, throttle, elevator, aileron, rudder, micro helicopters that utilize a 2 channel infrared control system also exist, collective pitch models need a minimum of 5 channels with 6 being more common throttle, elevator, collective pitc More..h, aileron, rudder and gyro. Because of the normal interaction of the various control mechanisms, the radios are quite advanced compared to fixed wing RC aircraft, including adjustable mixing functions, such as throttle/collective and throttle/rudder. The basics of flight are the same for large models, Some of the problems associated with controlling RC are exactly the same as that of a real helicopter, I do know someone who decided to take up lessons after flying models for a few years , and he found the transition to be quick, from the experience he learnt on flying his remote heli. Less..
@32oz You're right, whole different ball game.
But does it blend?
@SofaKing I put my leg in one once, didnt blend just shattered the blades and cut my leg open.
