  • Entertaining as always, Flash.

God, that's stupid about the water line. I'd like to see Arizona tell the feds, "screw you", and just build it.

The owl story is a perfect example of why I don't like Regulation. Because once a Regulation is in place, people stop thinking and just point to the Law and say "SEE, you can't do that."

      Asinine.

  • ---illegal immigration would be much less of a problem if we defended our borders the way we defend borders of other countries---one year of iraq war outlays would pretty much pay to bail out spain---globalization has failed---and the floating currencies of the western democracies have only perpetuated debt----

  • Wall Street don't produce anything.

    • @Anonyville
Except Jobs...for example, a company wants to expand from one State into multiple states. They decide to fund this expansion with an IPO.

Not the best way, but works for our example here.

So they sell "shares" or "parts" of their company to raise money to build new Factories and Stores. That creates an enormous number of jobs, and unlike 'Stimulus' Plans, the jobs are permanent because they actually Make Something.

    • @Flashovr Paper trading is not producing. Further the shares only counts if your incorporated. So if Wall Street does anything it props up a incorporated system over a privately owned business. The business could have just as easily gone to the banking system to acquire said loans for expansion. Now because they went to Wall Street share holders they are beholden to their rules.

    • @Flashovr ---wall street has become a gambling casino where the actors spend the money to hire lawyers and lobbyists to work the laws in their favor---how can the small businesses fund the armies of lawyers necessary to cut through the morass of these multi thousand page laws?---imo wall street should benefit main street--- it does not today---the market tanks--so what?---the investment entities such as hedge funds make in some cases more money in down times than when the market goes up--how do More..

Arnold you know I hold you in high respect, and you are right about Wall Street being a rigged game that favors large firms. Right or Wrong, that is reality.

However, I disagree that Wall Street should help Main Street. My opinion is not a popular one,but I think Wall Street is responsible for Wall Street and if anyone else benefits, that's fine.

That is how I feel about everyone/everything. I didn't start a business to create jobs. I started a business to make me money. I More..

    • @Flashovr There inlays the schtick. For the progression of society, every man must attempt to leave the world in a better condition than he found it for his children's sake. Unfortunately, the all for me mentality, prevalent in all sections of society today has dismissed this age old truth at the cost of those who are inheriting the mess left behind. That's the way I see it personally. I believe for the sake of instant gratification. We have sold our children down the river. There has been few g More..

  • Germany is not bailing out anybody; they may want you and everyone else to think they are, but in reality all the 'solvent' countries will put forward their loan proposals.

Germany want to be seen as the saviours of Europe, that's the dangerous part and that's what is actually causing much friction, not least in the UK. We're paying up, other countries are paying up, but it's Germany that always tries to take the credit.

The sooner the UK is out of that shit-heap the better, and return to wha More..
