    • @mostcallmeFLEX Yeah... I assume he's new, thus the camera man giving tips under his breath, but still, I'm sober and it took me a rewind or two to get exactly what he was saying.

  • Officer did the "gaze and stare" bullshit for over two minutes straight trying to catch a slip... Not even sure what that test proves but anyone would get impatient/bored with that after two minutes of trying to stare at the tip of a pen moving back and forth.

Also the officer doing the tests does a poor job speaking clearly and stumbles through his words... That's confusing even to me and I'm sober.

Other than that if this is legit it's legit. Guess it's an officer in training but h More..

    • @EmrysM That test is the Horizonal Gaze Nystagmas test. It's looking for lack of smooth pursuit in the eyes. Since alcohol affects your balance it also affects how your eyes move. Its the same principal as if you sit in a chair and spin. An observer would see your eyes bouncing back and forth.

    • @leojw Righto... well I can see myself getting bored enough to stop perfectly following the pen after a minute... and that's being generous.

Alcohol actually improves smooth pursuit. It's a banned drug in olympic shooting and archery simply because it makes motor control much smoother.

Data shows that 0.025 blood alcohol has far less accidents than 0.000 and 0.050 - mostly because of improved vehicle control.

I think at low levels you are correct but at higher levels of BAC, the opposite occurs

Yep. Above 0.05 you start to deteriorate quite quickly. At 0.080 you certainly shouldn't be on the road.

    • @ggppgg My position is that this is an injustice. My motivation for posting it is to show that a DUI arrest is not what most people think. The video has been removed per request. It is a public record and anybody could post it.

  • I think there is a clear difference between people with an IQ of 120 and those that rate 125.
    I'm a solid 119 so I can tell!

A badge and gun and a high school education is the only thing that keeps me from demanding you do as I ask!

Imagine if I pulled you over....
'Hello Sir, have you been drinking tonight?'

'A glass of wine with dinner officer..why?'

'Don't mouth off bitch! WTF? YOU LIKE THE TASTE OF LEAD?'

    'no..uhmm'

    'Your wife is hot....how much?'

    'uhm..well'

  • They try and get you to say "I couldn't do that sober!!!", which means that you admit you are drunk.

  • Just let the man be, hes 72 years old and enjoying a good buzz, no harm to any one. Even walking on the sidewalk and not in the middle of the street.

  • you have the right to refuse that test, all you have to legally submit to is the breathalyzer.

  • Safe to say everyone hates cops, lol but you do not have the right to drink and drive. Im not saying he is drunk, but if he is, he puts your loved ones at risk. I personally have seen a 14 year old boy killed at the hands of a drunk driver. That is an image I will live with for the rest of my life.
