  • Our government is spending at a level that is completely unsustainable. We are currently borrowing 40% of the money we are spending, and that goes directly to the debt.

It is getting to the point where we will never be able to pay it off. Our economy took a beating the last time they couldn't agree to do the right thing, and they have borrowed about 2 trillion dollars more.

This house of cards will soon fall down. If you are seeing the ramifications of Greece defaulting and what it is doing More..

There are, but there are even more people who think "I'm gonna get mine" and have no vision outside of the block they live on.

It is this shortsightedness that has crumbled many nations before ours.

We can’t be conquered from outside, but we can eat ourselves out of house and home. Then die in the debtor’s prison we created.

  • I love the way he points the finger at Europe. For 2011, the GDP of the 27 countries that make up the EU was 17.5 trillion euros (22.2 Trillion USD) the delta across all countries of debt to GDP ratio was 82.5% (18.3 Trillion USD) and if it wasn't for Greece, Portugal, Ireland and Italy messing the numbers up with their poor performances,it would be even better. The EU is forecasted to GROW 2.5% in 2012.

In other words, this person who represents only one 1 country with a deficit approaching 16 More..

As another fight over the budget looms, Democrats again choose to do nothing except blame those who try to fix the problem. Barry and Senate Democrats are masters of this do-nothing game.

  • So I guess all the haters want the US to default?
Refusing to raise the debt ceiling will do nothing to help the economy or slow government spending. If Mit Romney wins this fall he'll have to raise it a couple times during his term as well. It's just a simple fact of reality that people need to accept.

I don't doubt Romney and the other Republican statists will raise the debt ceiling. Increasing the debt level as a percent of GDP or national income is not sound economic or governing policy. The last 3+ years of economic lethargy are showing that the immense amount of "stimulus" spending has done no good, prevented price corrections, rewarded corporate political whores, and made the deficit something only hyper-inflation can destroy, which coincidentally pillages the e More..

Could it have been better? Yes. But claiming it has done "no good" is a load of shit and you know it. We'd be in much worse shape if Obama would have done nothing. But Rather than regurgitate the same old Right Wing platitudes that get posted here all day every day, why don't you share with us what you would do instead of raising the d More..
