That don't look right to me...

@2cr51 That's called an afterburner. Well maybe it was an afterburner but anyhoo that's how jets function, air is taken in and compressed by the turbo fans, ignited, causing rapid expansion and those expanding burning gases are directed past the turbine fans(they run a shaft back up to the turbo fans that compress the air, powering them and thus continuing the cycle) and out the back of the engine thus propelling the engine forward.

@EmrysM
That's no afterburner, it's just wasted fuel burning outside the engine.
This thing seems to be a "model" only, i.e does not generate usable thrust.
Would like to see some figures.

@magna750
Could be wrong but the 'front fire' looks like a reflection.
BTW - Nice bonanza emblem!!!

That was a really bad start.. I guess the computer shut it down.
you should not see flames like out out to turbine stage.

Wonder what metal he's using on the turbines? Some serious temperatures in the core.

The guy has other videos of it running a bit better. And he says it IS an afterburner. Apparently he made it himself from plans.
I love all the vids on YT of pimple-faced kids trying to make jet turbines out of tin cans and wotnot. Either they won't work at all or the turbine fail will result in a nice stay in hospital.
