Big Ass Ships Trying to Navigate Through Extremely Rough Seas

If you're the least bit prone to motion sickness, dramamine sure as hell won't do you any good in these conditions.

  • I wonder when they will build something that will make these ships look like toy's.

I mean something Massive that would just handle these waves like raindrops

    • @Myheavynuts

The bigger the ship the weaker it gets. You can't build a ship strong enough.

    • @USA1 I'm sure they could..

Nothing is impossible..We have material that is pretty damn strong..But with money being a issue with every single country it will be a little difficult to get something done.

But I'm sure it could happen..Shit People said that about half the planes they have built in the past. They built some bigguns back in the day hell even today..

    • @Myheavynuts

The bigger, the heavier. The heavier, the weaker.

Try to balance a 1200-ft ship on a 50 swell. The ends of bow down (hogging) and all the torque goes to the hull and deck plates. The loads are humongous.

It is not usual to see large ships split in two by large seas whereas a small little 25-ft boat would have been fine in the same size long wavelength swell.

    • @USA1 I know man...Don't need to get Technical about it all...

I'm sure though with Structural Engineering something could be made...
Look at half the crap we are building nowadays most people 20 years ago shit even 10 years ago would say it's impossible.

It's mainly money with anything bigger than the norm.

Glass is always half full for me cause I'm still pouring....BadooPshh

    • @Myheavynuts could well turn out they can invent a massive, perhaps city sized platform that cruises or whatever, supported by many shiplike thingys and poley things and stuff... be a fuckload of never ending jobs keeping that puppy going :o)

  • That would be a good time to stand on the bow of the ship like in the movie "Titanic". That, and you'd probably have to add an extra ounce of weight to your fishing line to compensate.
