In DeBary, some residents are furious because they said water being pumped from other flooded areas is spilling into their neighborhoods.
Seven thousand gallon tanker trucks poured water into Anna Copeland's subdivision. She was keeping an eye on the pond behind her home.
"Is it going to cause a sinkhole?" she asked. "All of these trucks are pumping 100,000 gallons of water an hour. It's going through these drains and into three ponds in this area."
Her Springview subdivision is just one of several neighborhoods suffering from Fay's aftermath.
DeBary leaders said they are not trying to make matters worse but they have to spread out the water through the city in order for it to recede.
"I hate like hell to see them flood my daughter and other people," said DeBary resident Gene Stump. "It's not if, but when."

I can't stand you people who think that freedom of speech means barging in on any forum and shouting your thoughts. Wait your turn or set up your own forum to speak.
YOU LIVE IN FLORIDUH!! STORMS COME, FLOODS OCCUR!! Fuckin morons.

I have an idea...If you want to speak at a council meeting, put your name on the list and wait your friggin turn! Don't interrupt the whole friggin meeting, screaming stupid shit. The citizens that are sitting in there are there to get information about the flooding situation, they came to hear from and talk to officials, not to hear some bare footed, toothless moron scream dumb shit. Free speech doesn't mean you get to barge in and do whatever the hell you want.

So that's enough reason to actually take away one's freedom and lock them up? Not in my book it is.

More than likely she got a citation for disturbing the peace and was let go, unless she hit that cop, which is a felony. But if she would have sat down and waited her turn, like the woman in green who was trying to speak like a normal citizen would, she would not have been thrown out. Would any other country would allow someone to walk into a government office during a meeting and scream and rant over everyone else without having that person removed? What about the freedom of speech for the citi More..

I know it will get me thrown out but certainly not arrested in this way. But if you say this is the way it goes there I guess we just have a higher bar on taking away a person's freedom here.

Thats not how you get something resolved, First was it an open meeting? Or closed to Council, Press, and witnesses? You have to have order, with out it we would still be in the stone age.

The point is, there are other people that need to speak and we only saw the last part of that. Outbursts aren't covered by freedom of speech.
Also, molested implies something different in the U.S. than you may be thinking. Generally the second definition in any dictionary. ;p

These meetings are conducted by keeping order. She would've been allowed to speak if she remained calm and waited her turn. I've been to meetings like this before and I wanted to speak I've always been allowed. Conduct yourself like a lady or gentleman and your voice will be heard. Conduct yourself like an ignorant person and speak out of turn you'll be shown the door.

I am saddened to hear this report that Yorkshire has decided to discontinue its centuries-long adherence to Parliamentary Procedure. Such procedures, as described in some detail in a document called "Roberts Rules of Order," allow many voices of interested parties to be heard (and this is the important part) one at a time. This permits more thoughtful consideration of each speaker's position on a topic of interest to the forum.
The absence of such procedures, in my experience, leads More..

Why? Because the rest of the people who's homes were in danger decided to act like civilized adults and NOT scream, NOT act like idiots AND NOT take it upon themselves to disrupt the whole meeting because they figured they were the only person who mattered in the room?
Or do you have a different reason?

She should have been allowed to speak, no doubt about it.
Some people use this shit to make attacks on America, fuck you for that. We are capable of seeing this is wrong and those responsible will be called to account. Also this flooding has cost many people their homes, not right for you to use that for your personal anti-American agenda.

Hey, yes I've been to the States a couple of times. It's a fine country but it's in trouble and on it's way to a colapse into facisme. I felt the trouble the most last time I went when most stores couldn't give me back for a $50 or even $20 bill and I ended up with a pound of 1 dollarbills when leaving the country. Also I was kind of intimidated by the overwelming presence of the Army and law enforcement in major cities. Struck me as ought and scary where it would have to make you feel safer I'd More..

I don't like using the word fascism. That was an overreaction for the contemporary. It was not an overreaction for the forthcoming.
I do not sympathize with the woman's demeanor, so my rage is essentially directed at the possibility that she was arrested for this. If not, ok, overreaction. If so, citizens should be outraged because that was not an arrestable offense according to common, decent law. Of course you can say it was an arrestable offense, yet you do not question what our books of be More..

Some of you people are idiots, in a meeting such as that you put in a request to speak. When its your turn you are givent the podium and can say your peace, interrupting others when its thier turn is not going to fly. She was being disruptive and was escorted out, good call.
