  • yeah but this would put all those other transportation companies out of business and they can't have that!

  • Brilliant idea. The future is going to be really interesting but we need to fix this fake economy shit to make such global projects somewhat feasible otherwise this will just become someone's debt that will then be bought out by someone else who will then crank up the operating costs.

  • If the governments were not so fucking hopelessly corrupt bastards we would have had this technology in place decades ago.

  • A great idea that makes a lot of sense. Big oil and the airline industry will make sure it never gets beyond the animation.

    • @Eva_Destruction

Not necessarily. Buses and taxis would still be needed to transport people locally. Airplanes would probably still be in use as well. I don't see this as making all other forms of transportation obsolete, but you do have a valid presumption.

  • I move a product through 9000' of 2" tube the same way.
Look at all you fucking crybabies....oh someone might get killed. We will always get fucking killed.

  • I've got two points-

    1. What happens if there's a problem in the airless, frictionless environment while traveling at such blinding speeds? Odds of survival don't seem very high.

    2. I hope you don't have to use the bathroom during. :D

  • Ahahhhhahaha! Really funny. And what's the primary energy used for this technology? And how much energy for a passenger?

  • Sounds like a good idea on paper, but what about the tube breaking under the stress when cars ares flying at 6000KPH?? How could thousands of miles of these tubes be efficiently maintained?

  • The speeds and G force, said at max speed, don't jive. To travel in those time frames, rapid acceleration and deceleration is required, increasing those G forces. Conversely, to remain at 1 G, you're a snail.

    • @joe prole Well its the initial acceleration that is hard and takes much energy to break adhesion to surface. Once you get moving you can rapidly increase speed without much notice. Like the new high speed elevators.

  • First thing Obama would do is build one for Mexico to sneak illegals even faster across the border.
