  • No wonder they have so many incidents of police brutality. Look at the quality of people they are getting - pretty damn low.
LAPD used to have pensions after 20 years. Even then they could barely keep cops on the force. The city cut back and made it so now they have to do 30 like everybody else. (I live near there and I would not do their job for a million dollars.) You can guess the retention rate.

  • City can't afford generous pensions. There's NO SHORTAGE of volunteers to be cops but other cities apparently offer better benefits. That doesn't bode well for SJ crime stats.

  • They could give automatic amnesty for the cops who chase down their girl friends at high speed, shoot at her, and eventually murder them with the service weapon.

  • Of course they're having problems recruiting vicious murderers.

  • I almost went to work for SJPD when I went to their academy, paid for by Salinas PD, and then left Salinas after some of the crap I saw taking place there.

I've never met a shitheel on the SJPD like I have elsewhere, including where I'm now employed.

Doesn't mean they're not out there, but I know what to look for in unstable or crooked cops, and I can't recall one there.
