Warren, I think you are right, immigration is a basic human right. I think for that reason we should have open boarders to whoever wants to better their life by coming to the USA. I also agree with you that most immigrants are probably putting more into the economy than they are taking out, of course that isn't true for all cases, but I think it is generally the case.
People don't like immigrants for many reasons. Throughout US history legal immigrants have endured a lot of discrimination. In the 20s Italian immigrants had tremendous difficulties, and after the Great Famine in the 1850's Irish immigrants also endured a great deal of discrimination.
Jesus said, do unto others as you would have them to unto you. If I were Mexican, I'd want to come to the USA to look for work and a better life, and I would hope I would be welcome.

Illegal immigrants commit less crimes? Please provide proof.
First of all, almost 30 percent of inmates currently incarcerated are illegal immigrants. This is coming from a group that makes up only about 3 percent of the population.
In Los Angeles alone, 95 percent of all outstanding warrants for homicide (which total 1,200 to 1,500) target illegal aliens. Up to two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants (17,000) are for illegal aliens.
Illegal aliens displaced American workers at a cost in excess of $133 billion dollars last year according to Harvard Professor George Borjas. College and high school kids cannot find a summer job in yard care, landscape, fast food or service jobs. Why? Illegal aliens work them at a third the wage and often, under the table.
How about illegal alien anchor babies? Over 300,000 women annually arrive pregnant and drop them on U.S. soil. You pay food, housing, medical and schooling for them to age 18 PLUS their mother. According to the Center for Immigration Studies, average annual cost per child K-12 is $7,161.00 and exceeds $109 billion annually per cycle of anchor babies. That%u2019s your money given out to 300,000 moms and their kids annually and all they did was get pregnant and birth that child on U.S. soil.
When an alien criminal gets caught for rape, murder or drug distribution, you pay $1.6 billion annually in prison costs to house, feed and clothe those filling 30 percent of our federal and state prisons
yes, certainly those hard working law abiding illegals have contributed so much to our society and to our wallets.

It may well be a hguman right to immigarte but it is also a human right to protect what is you own and society in general.
It all comes down to 'controlled immigration' and bothe the USA and the UK lost control a long time ago.
Open the doors and let them in, they'd do anything for short term economic gain but they failed to realise the long term social issues it brigs with it.

Here in Indiana, our jails and prisons are more than 30% Illegal Mexican criminals. Murderers, rapists, car theives,robbers, check forgers, drug smugglers,
gang banger gun runners, etc.

Wishard Hospital ER is overwhelmed with illegals. Illegals that don't pay their bills. The tax payers do. Illegals have overwhelmed our blood transfusion clinics for diabetics. Our own citizens are getting cut off from life saving treatment from this illegal menace.
