Knife-Wielding Attacker Kills Two, Injures Five At Ecuadorean Political Rally 
A campaign rally in the town of Quininde for Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa turned deadly when a man charged into a crowd of Correa's supporters with a large knife and began attacking them.
Two people were killed and a further five were injured in the stabbing spree, which occurred two weeks before the February 17th elections that Correa is widely expected to win. A man suspected to be the attacker is currently in police custody.

@tsmith well I'm still not comfortable with the remaining knives in the hands of private citizens. We need a knife registry, any knives without serial numbers should have them etched in and all new knives should be serialized. You should also have to have a license to own and/or purchase knives. The amount of knives owned by any one individual shall not exceed 3. Special permits can be obtained by culinary experts with the appropriate paperwork.
