NYC On Tornado Watch Again But Climate Change Is A Liberal Hoax (VIDEOS)

As a life long New Yorker, I can say, definitively, that tornadoes in the city are almost unheard of. So much so that many of us were led to believe that tornadoes can’t form over cities due to the height of the buildings and skyscrapers. Turns out that this is 100% false and that tornadoes are quite possible in the five boroughs. In fact, it’s becoming a common occurrence.
On Saturday, another one landed in Breezy Point, the southeastern portion of Queens (only 20 minutes away! How exciting!) and this time’s there’s video!

Once upon a time, tornadoes where a once-in-a-decade event, now it’s every year and more than once. Our climate is changing and extreme weather is becoming the norm is places where stability held sway. If this continues, the consequences will be terrible to contemplate.
Joplin was leveled by an F5 tornado and 161 people were killed. Joplin has a population of 51,186 and a population density of only 1,600 per square mile.
New York City has a population of 8,244,910 with a population density of 27,243 per square mile.
Extrapolate the death toll and we’re looking at 2741 casualties. That’s almost as many deaths as 9/11. The higher the frequency of tornadoes becomes, the higher the likelihood of an extreme weather event that will shock the world. Maybe then the climate change deniers will be finally be forced out of the public debate and back into the pockets of the oil companies that own them.

@TheEvilDead Dumping tens of thousands of tons of carbon into the air is going to eventually do something.We already have 5 times the amount of fossil fuel on the books that they say is safe to burn without changing global temps.
Guesstimates were about a 2 degree change. They have a new number apparently now. Almost as much as 11 degrees has been quoted. The changes to our planet would be right out of science fiction if true.

There have been tornadoes recorded in almost every year they started keeping records in NY. They were having them back when the big concern was global cooling too. Must be a connection.

And tornadoes being a once in a decade occurrence...maybe in NY..but not elsewhere, especially in the Midwest. Weather does what it wants though. Here in Florida everyone is always going batshit crazy about Hurricanes and we haven't had one do anything since Katrina.

Admittedly I am no expert, but I think most agree there actually is some climate change going on, it's just the genesis of it that is at issue. Is it man made (or excellerated) or natural and nothing to worry about in the long run?

Climate change is real, earth runs on cycles of heating up cooling down. We are still on the cycle of the planet heating up. Greenhouse gasses in excess amounts are really bad despite weather or not they cause global warming.

Never mind if fossil fuels contribute to the earth getting warmer (and it is getting warmer no matter what people type up on the internet). People should be more concerned about all the shit we put in the air contributing negatively to their health. Show people shrinking ice shelfs and they don't give a shit. Show them a strange dark spot in their lung that requires further testing and suddenly they are all about self preservation.
