Religion Poisons Everything: Christopher Hitchens

Hitchens is asked why, if there is no god, he spends his life trying to convince people god does not exist rather than just staying home. Hitchens describes the 'cults of death' which anticipate and welcome the end of the world, prevalent through all major organized religions, which guide their politics and actions to the detriment of the world and humanity and the importance of opposing this. "Religion poisons everything" and "infects us in our most basic integrity"...."I say this is evil" and "I fight against this ultimate stupidity".

Hitchens is author of the book "God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything". His journalistic career that has spanned for more than 40 years, and made him a prominent public intellectual, and a staple of talk shows and lecture circuits. He has been a columnist and literary critic at Vanity Fair, Slate, The Atlantic, World Affairs, The Nation, Free Inquiry, and a variety of other media outlets.
