Wouldn't you integrate the firing of the rockets with the undercarriage so that they cant be ignited before struts are under compression? Foreseeing this accident wasn't "rocket science" (or maybe it was)

My father was a mechanic on C-130's during the Vietnam War. Unfortunately, these airplanes were also used to transport & distribute Agent Orange. He passed away 2 years ago after a long battle with the horrible illnesses brought on him from his exposure to these agents. He absolutely loved these airplanes. This plane went into production over 55 years ago and it is still used everyday by our armed services!
