QE Infinity, No Easing Here!

View my rant on QE. I think I devised a plan to resolve this issue:) Has anyone noticed how much basic items are costing at the store? I feel no easing.

  • This could become a huge problem very quickly if something isn't done to set things right again. Obama and his merry band of idiots aren't going to lift a finger to fix it. They've no idea how.

Nice Inu Yasha poster, by the way.

  • I have no idea what you are talking about, but you sound very convincing.
    Luck!

*just a thought about Americans, eat less food, be less fat, save money, feel better, live longer, look less ugly, have better sex, fit in an airplane seat etc etc etc....*
Don't hate me because I'm thin, gorgeous, broke and hungry!
Hate me because I'm an asshole......thanks.

  • We fully concur based on our own experience--my gawd, last time such a thing happened was during the Carter administration.

    Great to see you back!

  • Well said, Ms_X. The bankers are raping us under the supervision of our governments. Same thing in Europe, Africa, Asia. Bernanke and his cohorts need to be impaled in front of 1 United Nations Plaza, New York, NY 10017.

  • Good commentary. It's basic economics and too many people don't know it from a hole in the wall.

  • Thanks for sharing Ms_X. I don't know much about economics (I like mid-east politics) but maybe I should pay more attention.

Oh, and hope you disregard any personal attacks from LL'ers. Many are the 'it's just the internet, you don't know me and never will' type.

john1054 is one of about 3 men on LL that I am aware of who: respects himself, respects his wife, respects his family and women in general
and I see he was here

  • I helped build a software system that traded mortgage backed securities twenty years ago. Fond memories. My last one traded Forex box options. I helped build that back in 2005. They're all viable investments but today's generation doesn't necessarily know how they work. They're kind of sophistimicated.

  • I am making more money now than I was 3 years ago. I buy things that are on sale to save money and spend on good things like booze and concerts. I thought everyone else did the same. I don't expect prices to remain the same forever. Go figure.

  • The government and the Fed has been playing statistical tricks to adjust down the amount of inflation that has been occurring these past four years. This doesn't even consider the hidden inflation that companies have been instituting through reduced weights and volumes of packaged goods.

Of course, we should still feel lucky, because this inflation we've experienced is nothing compared to the hyperinflation that's just around the bend. That's when we'll pay hundreds, then thousands, of dollars More..

  • Hi Ms_X, well said. (Ms_X would be a great name for a dominatrix :) )
I feel for you guys and gals over there. Not sure if it's going to better either.
Our basics here in Aus are chewing into the weekly budget too. Petrol, electricity and fresh food just keep going up. It's ridiculous.

  • Isn't this the same thing our parents said, ages ago?

I'm not saying things aren't going up (they totally are) but hasn't this been a topic of discussion for mega years? It will be the same for our children years from now. Sure it sucks.. but what can you/we do about it?

    • @kmmouse ---very disappointing kim---we are witnessing the culmination of decades of failed policies--bear in mind--that the dollar was taken off the gold standard in 1971--since then our good behavior ie: fiscal responsibility, such as it is---has been the only thing that has given it value--when you and i were younger--the problem was smaller--but we have been talking about deficit spending since the 1970's--coincidence?----here is an article from joe stiglitz --he is a nobel prize winning eco More..

  • This chicky is talking truth here!

Buckle up and batten down , prepare for another round.

    Help others if you can!

This is a stealth wealth grab by the invaders , to grab all tangible wealth , and replace it with useless paper , debt , and misery!
