Kieron Williamson's first book, first look

20th July 2012 -

"Working in the media I have the privilege of meeting people with remarkable talent.

But as I patiently listen to cats snoozing in the living room of a rustic country home, it hits me that the person I'm waiting to interview has been so successful that he bought the surrounding bricks and mortar last year when he was aged just eight.

And as he bounces through the door after a good day at school, it strikes me that the artist I last met two years ago is still pint-sized... but now he's almost a millionaire.

Last week 24 of Kieron Williamson's latest pieces sold for a combined £250,000.

This week the public is getting the chance to see them up close, along with his first ever paintings, at a career-spanning exhibition in Holt, Norfolk, a fortnight before he turns 10."

Below is a view of his first book, published last week, and arrived on my doorstep this morning.
It's a first edition, and signed by him.

Just a little preview for you LiveLeakers.

125 pages, good quality stock and production.

It's UK£25 plus postage (which can double the price), signed, and first edition.

I'm not going to name the title or do anything to make this look like an advert.
I would just say that even just a print of one of his works sells for over four times this amount.

Here's a little preview of the book....

  • ---wow--this kid's upside is huge--his work right now smacks of impressionism--almost monet---if he can move on from landscapes and paint real life subjects like manet and renoir--this kid could really make some history--of course--he is still developing---

  • He renders the incoming tide so well with the wet sand reflecting the sky, and the clouds at different heights in different colors and directions, and always the soaring birds, I find these paintings profoundly moving because they reflect the purity of his soul yet unblemished by all the garbage current culture dumps in abundance in front of our eyes.

    • @khamomil

That's a fav of mine from him so far :-)

He has had some teaching, but only in technique. He seems to run a thousand miles down the road with that.

He has done portraits, see this one.

On first view you think "OK, quite good for a ten year old..."

I'm no student of art, but after say half a minute of looking at the whole thing I found myself thinking &qu More..
