  • smokey75 - You have the most amazing collection of aviation porn I think I have ever seen. I love it and thanks for sharing!

  • I met an old Viet Nam Vet who flew these. He flew cas/evac, dead and wounded. He said he crashed/shot down three times. He was covered in burn scars.
I was on R&R leave in Germany on a beer tour when I met him. He was having a good time. I thanked him, he thanked me and then we drank large beers and talked to pretty women.

  • Beautiful aircraft. Easy to see the later CH-46 frog in this one.

I happened on one of these on a lunch break at El Toro in the summer of '86 parked right next to a Grumman Hellcat with its wings folded, the only two aircraft out there on an other wise almost empty airbase. Both in pristine airworthy condition.

The Hellcat I was told was owned by a retired marine Brigadier. The helo nobody knew anything about.

  • For those that know me, you know i love old aircraft.
but this thing has NEVER been on my fav list of aircraft.

    More Posts please!
they have always looked unstable underpowered.
Perhaps i saw too many test crashes of these when i was younger, i dunno.
Anyway, thanks for the post, just not a fan of the aircraft.
