She was mouthy but that doesn't justify McNevin's excessive use of force. Tasers (and other non-lethal interventions) are not to be deployed until all other options are exhausted. That 2 full grown men are incapable of handling this situation without deploying any kind of weapon makes me sick and speaks to their lack of proper training and laziness.
Hopefully she'll sue and win a large sum of money, and McNevin will, as a result, undergo proper training in the Use of Force Continuum.
McNevin is a part of the problem, as are the incessant Police Apologists here on LL who can rationalise anything, using a variation of The Nuremberg Defense!

Addendum: It was PROPER to arrest her for Driving while Suspended, but it's the MANNER of the arrest that is at question. If she had been compliant and not lipped off she may have gotten away with a citation or 2. Having said that, McNevin was still NOT justified in using excessive force.

I could care less what level of force he used on her, if she is stupid enough to keep mouthing a cop with an attitude, she should not be surprised with the outcome.
BTW - I too have been attacked by a cop that overstepped his authority; ended up in jail and in court. The guy was as big a prick as any, but I know better now than to backtalk a one.
All that screaming and moaning, such a drama queen; I wonder if she does that in the sack!
