  • Just goes to show how fucking stupid the people who support this bill are. Back woods throwbacks, the lot of them. That they are allowed to have a say in anything political or educational boggles the mind.

  • According to this law, Tennessee schools should also teach their students about Amun, the Egyptian God who created the world by masturbating.

  • If teachers don't believe in evolution they shouldn't be teachers

  • Congratulations!

Next they should tackle this leftist nonsense about the earth not being the centre of the universe.

    Ahhh, the dark ages.
What a wonderful time of freedom and progress.
Looks like you are on your way there in a hurry.

  • “Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'”

  • I hope it is in the bill that the teacher must submit and stick to a predetermined lesson plan at the beginning of the academic term. If they say they are going to teach biology and then teach creationism, they should be subject to a lawsuit.

Also, if they teach Christian creationism but a student believes in the Nordic tradition of creation, how can the teacher say the student is wrong?

    • @viennachoirboy because the teacher is a "Christian." Like all religious idiots, they all think their idea is the one and only "Truth." Therefore, anyone who disagrees with them is wrong, of course. Quite convenient, isn't it?

  • “If every trace of every single religion were wiped out and nothing were passsed on, it would never be created exactly that way again. There might be some other nonsense in its place, but not that exact nonsense. If all of science were wiped out, it would still be true and someone would find a way to figure it all out again.” -Penn Jilette

  • i started reading the bible not for religious reasons but...for the fun of it. the first page deals with how the earth was created. just one page. im shocked some people want to teach that instead of science as if its reasonable. indeed the bible is 'the greatest story ever told' in every sense of the words great and story. the book of mormon is next so i might need to revise my last sentence.

  • So first, republican politicians try to act like doctors and now they think they are scientist. They love to do what they accuse others of doing (i.e. big government).

Evolution is a scientific theory creationism is not scientific its religious sermon. So this is just a way to teach biblical text to all whether they be christian or not. As Christians, we invite others to our faith not force it upon people. Those who don't follow this philosophy are not practioners of the faith but profitt More..
