Yesterday afternoon (local time) 3 Islamist militants used as a decoy a group of African infiltrators, in order to cross the border from Sinai into Israel. When IDF soldiers from a near by border platoon approached the Afrcians in order to give them some water, the Islamists opened fire, killed one soldier and wounded another.


Part of that border platoon also contained fighters of the Karakal (Lynx) unit, which has female fighters serving togheter with males. The female fighters got cover and fired back, togheter with the other fighters.


One of the females, a sniper, called for back up and then managed to lay down and made a direct hit on one of the Islamists, which was carring a suicide vest on his body. The vest exploded with the Islamist...


The battle lasted several minutes and in the end there was one IDF soldier dead, another one wounded and all three Islamists dead.
