5:32 pm, July 9th, 2012WFTV-Channel 9 in Orlando reports
that a brawl broke out in the Osceola County Courthouse minutes after
the postponement of a “stand your ground” hearing in the first-degree
murder case of a Florida man accused of fatally shooting two brothers
outside a St. Cloud bar.
As a crowded hall of 30-plus people looked on, family members of the accused killer Jason Clair
and his alleged victims, the Kun brothers, began throwing punches,
shoving, and kicking each other following a verbal spat. Police officers
became entangled in the fight, eventually subduing the brawlers with
taser threats.
A year ago, Clair allegedly murdered the Kun brothers outside a bar.
Several fights had broken out that evening between Clair and the Kuns,
with the defendant claiming he eventually shot them to protect his life.
But witnesses state Clair left the bar, drove away, and eventually
returned with a handgun.
WFTV reports that the murdered brothers’ father, James Kun Sr., their family friend, Jeremy Milyon, and defendant Jason Clair’s stepfather, James Barker,
were the three main participants in the physical altercation. All three
were arrested and brought to county jail. Milyon reportedly faces a
felony charge for punching a police officer during the fight.
Barker reportedly apologized as he was being handcuffed, saying, “Sorry. He hit me first. He hit me. What was I supposed to do?”
