The attacks, which have claimed more than 100 lives, represent a major escalation by the Taliban and come before the army launches a major offensive against militant targets in South Waziristan, near the Afghan border.

The powerful blast shredded and incinerated the market and nearby vehicles, leaving the area blackened and smoking.
"It appears to be a suicide attack. The bomber hit one of three military vehicles that were passing through the busiest market in the district," said Khan Bahadur Khan, Shangla's senior police official.
The Pakistani Taliban have brainwashed children to carry out such missions, and are known to have run "suicide schools" in Waziristan and Swat.
The army is expected to launch a ground offensive within days in Waziristan, which is the epicentre of Pakistani jihadism, as well as a crucial refuge for Afghan insurgents and Al-Qaeda.
The commando-style assault on Pakistan's army headquarters in Rawalpindi at the weekend has made the Waziristan campaign, which has been discussed for months, even more pressing.
The assault and ensuing hostage situation in Rawalpindi left 14 military and civilian personnel dead. All but one of the gunmen were killed after a 22-hour siege ended on Sunday, with their leader taken alive.
The army's chief spokesman, Maj Gen Athar Abbas, said on Monday the gunmen, who wore army uniforms, had planned to hold senior army officers hostage until their demands were met. They issued a list of demands topped by the release of 100 jailed extremists, as well as demanding the trial of the former US-backed military ruler, Pervez Musharraf, and the expulsion of American officials from Pakistan.
The terrorists had held 22 hostages in a single small room, with a suicide bomber in the middle, ready to blow himself up. The man wearing the suicide vest was killed before he could press the trigger.
"We believe that the main training for this operation was in South Waziristan," said Maj Gen Abbas.
He also said that the military had intercepted a phone call in which Waliur Rehman, the number two in the Pakistani Taliban, was heard speaking to an associate, asking him to "pray" for the success of the attack on army headquarters.

13 year old's brains have not formed completely in the first place, no way this could would have done this by himself or could have done this by himself. Imagine it, someone strapped bombs to a child, a child that can't fight back and say no. These are not people you want in power but that is all they want and think they deserve over you.

I read Isaiah 13, and I don't see your point. It is the prophecy of the destruction of Babylon by the Medes, which came to pass BTW. Nothing mythical here, actually everything came to pass exactly as was foretold. Babylon was never rebuilt, like the prophecy says, though many have tried, including Saddam Hussein. Like I said, I don't see your point. Explain.

brother, i'm a Christian (not the best by any means)..and I follow the teachings of Christ...not Hilter. It's easy to point the finger at our own religion and claim such horrible atrocities! Eating muslim children when we took Antioch because we were starving.
I took more than 5 minutes out of my life and tried to understand Islam, and to study how it has evolved. Believe it or not...we actually lived in peace with one another. Islam has been changed and manipulated depending on it's geographical location.
Go tell the Islamic translators in Iraq who risk all to help and protect our troops that they are evil people. Ignorance is the the reason we are failing as a species. Don't make the mistake of judging a people as a whole because there are some religious nut jobs out there.
Better yet, go out and speak with a Muslim...get his/her opinion on what is going on. That's what I had to do and it opened my eyes. Now, bring on the "God haters" who spend all their time talking crap about something they don't believe in.

Americans are stereotyped because a few of our celebrities (maybe all of them) and politicians act like idiots. The world takes what it see's and makes its judgment calls. But there are some of us in this country that are not idiots, and are in fact intelligent, law abiding, well meaning people! Pick up a book, talk to a Muslim! Get your head out of the news and movies. I hope my children will not be so quit to cast judgment on an entire religion or people as you would. I hope they will be taught How to Learn...and not what to learn. Even Hitler claimed to be a Christian in Mein Kampf...or were you to afraid to read that book because you were told it was a bad thing to do?
