Most likely someone said something on Facebook/Twitter/blog about someone's girlfriend/boyfriend/mom/sister and it escalated in school and on the train ride home it comes to a head. It's either going to keep escalating from this point or it will die off. I think it's gonna die off but I don't know the whole story...
