China's All-terrain Spider Excavator
The all-terrain walking excavator ET110 built by XCMG, China's 3rd largest
construction machinery manufacturer, was customized for complex terrains such as hills and waterways. XCMG had a demo for this funny spider at bauma China 2010.
The concept of mobile excavator was proposed by a swiss engineer named Ernst Menzi about half a century ago.

Chinas 1:1 version of the Menzimuck. Not very innovative. Copy of fine Swiss engineering. Bet it's only half the price.

No need to over complicate a machine. Good ol catipillar will do just as much work and don't need to dance for a crowd.

I dont know why im so bothered by people bashing china all the time but i am. America cant produce anything solid itself ffs. How many of you own and a GE TV? How about Jeep Cherokee that falls a part after 30k miles? And dont get me started on F22s.
Fucking STFU about china's quality already.

I saw western versions of this years ago (mute sound):
http://www.ito-video.com/schreitbagger/kaiserbagger-schreitbagger-spinnenbagger-video_3f07ab91c.html
A search for kaiserbagger even leads to news about the Chinese copying one model. So there you have it.

Killer operator. These machines have more levers than a space shuttle, not really, but a bunch of controls. You have to be a genuine operator to make these things move like that.

"The concept of mobile excavator was proposed by a swiss engineer named Ernst Menzi about half a century ago"
Standby to hear from a Russian that it was invented in the Soviet Union in the 1920s, from an American that it was invented in the US (like everything else) and another bunch who claim China must have copied it.
