All these Nature comments: baby's are a delicacy and this shit happens every day in your back yard; baby kittens are eaten by Possums, baby Possums are eaten by feral cats, baby crows are eaten by baby hawks baby hawks are eaten by tree snakes and on and on.......(I hear that song) "the circle or life" playing in the background while watching a NPT channel two documentary of Brown bears eating each other's cubs....LOL

@Wranger_243 that's good because it was meant to be a joke albeit brutally real. Some of the fuck-tards on this site have no sense of humor ;0)

I am perfectly aware that feeling this way isn't logical, and that watching thoser rats get shot on the other vid didn't bother me much at all, but there is something about babies, I don't know/can't explain what it is, they are so vulnerable, it really bugs the hell out of me to see this. Goddamnit.

@zofty
If the owl is a rescue, being rehabilitated after an injury or something, a cage is the proper way to keep it. Burrowing owls live in (surprise) burrows in the ground, so this kind of environment isn't odd for them.

I think that people who own any animal that requires live food IS SICK!!! People like that enjoy watching other life forms suffer & die. I believe that anyone who owns animals like snakes should be considered weird & avoided at all costs

@marius69: Got news for ya, everything we eat was alive at one point. So it is alright if someone else kills it then feeds it to us?

We don't know that the owl is a permanent captive. It's likely not, since getting a permit to keep owls and raptors is not easy to do, and would involve a large flight area anyway. The mice, eh, mice reproduce at such an insanely high rate, and mortality in the wild is very high as well.
