  • Under his presidency our government spent unprecedented amounts of money, but guess what, he was also man enough to admit that it happened and it was wrong. Do you know any other president who would admit failure in any aspect?
It takes a man to admit failure and learn from it.
On that note, though his administration and congress during his presidency spent too much, we also saw unprecedented growth in our economy.

  • During a 1983 Congressional Medal of Honor ceremony Reagan told a story about military heroism that New York Daily News columnist Lars-Erik Nelson wrote never happened. Nelson had checked the citations on all 434 Congressional Medals of Honor awarded during WWII. The scene Reagan described did appear, however, in the 1944 film A Wing and a Prayer.

  • This was awesome. Was visiting with family recently.Having a beer with my father. We were discussing the times. He began reflecting on the past and how hard certain times were.
His wife replied, *yes....those were hard times. But do it all again with a fealing of no hope. At least we had hope then.*

I didnt say anything. What can you say to that? Is it not the truth? Its a shame what has happened to our country. We're victems of big government. But like a victems of abusive relationships. We More..

  • What conservatives need to remember isn't his speeches, it's his policies. The actual President Reagan and the President Reagan that Fox News pundits talk about are dramatically different people.

  • The Gipper was a honorable president and man. He believed in and loved America and it's founding principles.that shining city on top of the hill.
for those very same reasons, are why the progressive Liberals hate him. they wanted someone that believed in the Marxist way of life. they found him in the great divider of men and country the Marxist Barack Hussein Obama. great post! voted.

    • @star53 Let's take a look at President Reagan's legacy. He increased the federal deficit from $1 trillion to $3.5 trillion, covertly sold arms to Iran (crickets chriping), home ownership went down in both of his terms, his deregulation led to the S&L crisis, the middle class shrunk, the rich got richer, the poor got poorer, he had dementia, he regularly fell asleep at briefings, he shut down mental hospitals which led to a huge increase in crime, he blew tons of money on worthless military More..

  • Ronald Reagan would never have made it out of the primaries under the current Tea-bagger GOP.

  • I remember when Ronald Reagan was President and Brian Mulroney was Prime Minister. I have never seen two heads of state get along better at a personal level. This level of personal trust fostered a great relationship between the two countries and was mutually beneficial in a number of ways (free trade agreement for example). See what happens when pols actually get along?

    Cheers!

    • @absu69

Deficits matter when they become so large that the interest expense alone requires nearly 1/3 of all taxpayers to pay.

    • @USA1 he just paved the way for non violent drug offenders to serve time in prison thus causing the Overpopulation of our jails resulting in the Prisons Privatization . Jail and Prisons are now run for profit not rehabilitation people come out worse than they go in alot of this stems from dear old RONNIE'S drug laws
