@MSG The US did not attack or engage Baghdad, the capital, or topple Saddam. But US troops did cross the border and they did kick the Iraqi army all the way back. After the 1st war the US maintained and enforced no fly zones over Iraq.

The civilian vehicles destroyed on the Highway of Death were not Iraqi. I saw dozens with clearly identifiable Kuwaiti license plates. Many were packed with things like television sets and even toys.
Contrary to some reports, these vehicles were *not* being driven by Kuwaiti civilians fleeing the Coalition - unless it had somehow become fashionable for Kuwaitis to wear Iraqi uniforms.

The first 1:50 minutes about the gold standard, inflation caused by letting the money press run and keeping it silent is utter bollocks. Read a bit up on the Bretton Woods system which was used at that point, the London gold pool and why it all collapsed in any macroeconomics book used at a university.
