Question Time in Federal Parliament has been repeatedly
interrupted by protesters angry at the passing of the Government's
carbon tax bills through the Lower House. Batches of protesters
in the public gallery, chanting "no mandate, democracy is dead",
interrupted Prime Minister Julia Gillard four times as she attempted to
answer a question.About 80 protesters in all were escorted out of the gallery by attendants.

Two
male protesters stood up from the speaker's gallery, at the end of the
chamber, waving shoes and shouting at Ms Gillard: "What happened to your
shoe leather?"One of the men wrestled with security guards as they tried to remove him.

The Speaker, Harry Jenkins, admonished the protesters but refused to close Question Time to the public.
