Lemurs and bears feast on carved pumpkins
October 18th, 2007 Halloween isn't just for children. Animals at the Indianapolis Zoo are also celebrating the event. Wednesday (10/17), the lemurs were treated with snacks the keepers stuffed inside carved pumpkins. They had a lot of fun collecting their treats. Meanwhile, Kodiak bears played with, smashed, and ate their Halloween pumpkins. Keepers say the pumpkins help keep the animals active and alert and are part of a year-round enrichment protocol.
