Union Pacific 844 departing Cheyenne
an impressively well kept steam UP steam locomotive No 844 hauls a rail tour out of Cheyenne among the busy everyday traffic movements.
'July 16, 2009 - Union Pacific 844, the only steam locomotive in the U.S. that has never been officially retired from a Class 1 railroad, departed Cheyenne, WY for Denver, CO. In the half hour before the 844 rolled out of town, two eastbound freights appear while one westbound headed out ahead of the shiny black 4-8-4 and it's 22-car train'.
(These clips will be featured in an upcoming episode of the TV series Trackside).
