"In Washington, the Republican establishment is sending Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.) a unmistakable message: He needs to exit the Senate race against Democratic incumbent Sen. Claire McCaskill. Now. But in Missouri, a non-scientific Patch poll of influential local Republicans shows suburban activists and officeholders in or near Akin's district are divided about whether he should stay in the race, at least for the moment. Monday was brutal for Akin and his campaign. Presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney called Akin's assertion that "legitimate rape" victims rarely get pregnant, "insulting, inexcusable, and, frankly, wrong." A series of prominent Republicans called on Akin to exit the race...".* Michael Shure (host of TwenTYTwelve), Mark Thompson, and Lucas Lilieholm (producer, The Young Turks on Current TV) discuss on The Young Turks.

This shit needs to dog Romney and Ryan all the way through this election. Both of them have expressed support for "personhood amendments" that would outlaw abortion in cases of rape and incest as well as many types of in vitro fertilization. Paul Ryan even helped author one of those bills with that asshole Akin. this is the kind of sick shit that will keep me from ever voting for Republicans..

EXCITING NEWS, EVERYONE!
http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/08/todd-akin-nrsc-karl-rove.php?ref=fpnewsfeed
It seems the Republican party has thrown Akin under the bus. They're probably getting rid of him as quickly as possible, to avoid the Ryan-Akin connection from becoming widely known.
Once again, everyone, Akin and Ryan co-sponsored the bill that tried to redefine rape as only counting when it's "legitimate" rape.
The Republicans are attempting a "controlled burn" More..

This laughing stock of a politician has at least got it partially right; a woman can prevent a pregnancy after being raped. It's called an abortion.

Jesus fucking christ, how stupid can one be? No wonder the US is becoming an unintellectual cesspool when the politicians don't have the basic understanding of pretty much anything.
Imagine, these are the same people who also decide about the education of the youth.

Because of your religious belief 'from God', why the fuck would you want to impose your belief as law over hundreds of millions of people? Isn't that like Hitler? Tell me what the fuck is wrong with you all? What makes you think your religion is ANYTHING to do with the whole country's beliefs? Fucking religious weirdos. Fuck off already you subhuman, Peter Pan fairy land cunts.

@JihadKiller1s1k I agree, killing babies it totally wrong. Now the debate begins. Science states that a zygote is not a baby. Relion says otherwise. So, it depends on your beliefs. No one has the right to impose their belief on anyone. Thatcs just that.

Science states that a kicking fetus sucking on its thumb that can FILL pain is a baby. Leftist atheist assholes say otherwise. So, it depends on your ignorance of what Life is. No one should have the right to impose their beliefs on a little defenseless life and KILL it. Thatcs just that.

"Legitimate rape" brings to mind a time when a 16 or 17 year old starf*cker went back stage after a rock show and screwed the band's drummer. Everything was fine until she found out six months later he was only a roadie, not the drummer. Then she went to police and reported being raped.

Apart from all this I wonder if, when raped, the chance of getting pregnant will differ from the chance of getting pregnant during concensual sex. Are there defensive mechanisms in place, or not.
From the rapists point of view there is an explanation. He has no normal way of spreading his genes, so, he does this by force.
Ofcourse this doesn't count for the religeous people who believe in 'Gods will'.
