We rarely get a glimpse of the work done both at home and abroad. But now a new documentary series examines the history of the SAS and includes some startling revelations about the many risks they face.

I know two guys who passed the SASR induction test and decided that despite being accepted they didn't feel mentally strong enough serve so declined the offer.
(Note to ABC: SASR, not SAS!)

I'm not fibbing. These were guys I knew personally.
It's one thing to pass the test. It's yet another to commit to the SASR lifestyle.
I personally know a lot of SASR guys. They are almost all on the soft and caring side (plus intelligent). Rambos are deleted in the initial checks.
It's not in the least surprising that successful applicants sometimes make a decision to discontinue. To even get accepted for testing requires that you show brains and compassion.
