This item updates item 'Guess the 1080p movie for July 15th, 2012'
Okay... No idea if this update thing is going to work or not but here's the same clip, same bitrate, but at 720x480 in mpeg2. I clicked the 'update' button to do this so I don't know if it's making a whole new post or adding it to the existing post.

Aim for a 3 or 4" diagonal screen. It's a computer. Not a TV with people sitting on the floor with their noses 6" from it :-)
This looks like 2500kbps rendering and runs just fine now.
Pretty soon, the majority of viewers will be on handies (not pads) with 3 or 4" diagonal screens.
It's a great target format as you can get great quality at low bandwidth.
You are still in both Pillar Box and Letter Box mode tho :-0
Almost there, the rest should be downhill now.

@BloodyPeasant
It's either the standard window or full screen.
Using a screen capture and Paint.net I make the standard window about 680 by 350 pixels.
On other sites it varies, and YT will let you embed any pretty much any size you like.
Clearly though, throwing a 720pixel high image into a 350pixel high window means a lot of wasted stuff.
Some may say that oversampling is a good idea, but only up to a point. Beyond that, it's just sucking bandwidth.
I find 1280x720 at 2500kbps the ideal More..

@BloodyPeasant
That's a very detailed scene, and I think it could still go down to 2500kbps.
Why optimise the bitrate?
To get views.
People on slower bandwidth will just give up watching the stutter.
Also,there's a break even point where the higher bitrate is simply wasted.
I got tought this by a guru at Exposureroom.com some years back.
For the typical YT and LL windowed (not full screen) videos, 2500kbps rendering to complex material is fine.
I run on less than 2MB broadband, so I am f More..

Very strange movie. Good plot, just one of those, cant go take a piss without losing something and getting lost in it.
