Tuesday in November1945

produced by the Office of War information in 1945.

Riverton California, it's election day.

please note, long film in b/w. as always, for history buffs, there's some great visual details in the backgrounds such as the milkman arriving in his now Classic Delivery Vehicle at 3.03-ish and of the long lines of people waiting their turn to cast their votes ..what's Riverton like today, has it faired well?

  • Well, according to Google maps Riverton California is a wide spot in hwy 50 about 66 miles east of Sacramento. There is a sizable community or Riverton Utah which is 618 miles (by road) from Riverton California! This film must have been done more for high-school classrooms than any other purpose. Still, pretty interesting!

    • @downhill2400 that's interesting dh, thanks for that. wouldn't be surprised seeing as though it came from the Information Office. The film worked well though in explaining to us over here how the US Gov functions. neat little film.

  • Thanks Cleaner. It makes my chest fill with pride to see our system of government shown as it is suppose to be. It makes my heart heavy with sadness to see what has become of the the greatest form of government the world has ever seen. We turly at a crossroads with our election coming up in Nov.

  • "faired" well? No. fared well.

    Definition of FARE
    intransitive verb
    1: go, travel
2: get along, succeed <how did you fare on your exam?>
