Some of that was straw man packaging. For instance, I can't think of anybody who thought Saddam Hussein was going to attack the United States. Overall, though, Ron Paul is the one guy who has consistently been talking sense over the last decade.
He's got some big problems with his followers. Unless he clearly distances himself from the Truthers and the anti semitic crowd, he is hopeless as a presidential candidate.
