Most of those on this site are too young to know anything
about the history and availability of firearms in America.

Up until the mid 1960s it was possible to order firearms
through the mail, yes folks through the mail...

The photos attached to this post, a 1959 magazine ad, are
evidence of my claim. (and for gun collectors take note of
the prices on those WWII surplus 1911s, makes ya want to
cry.)

We were a different people in those days, less impulsive
having been taught respect for the authority of the Father
and Mother figures.

I could write a gigantic diatribe about why this change in
society has occurred, and the fact that it was all done by
design, but no one has the attention span to read it anymore
so I will leave off saying that I do not believe that the
average person in today's idiotic and shallow internet/video
game society is mentally fit to possess firearms and we are
not able to return to the value system that allowed us to
freely have firearms.

The bottom line:
Firearm ownership for responsible individuals creates no
problems but given the mentality of our current society how
can we continue to advocate that just any Joe video game
jackass should be allowed to purchase guns ?

If anyone can give a reasonable argument allowing the
current crop of shallow thinking imbeciles to freely
purchase firearms I would truly like to hear it.

And, before anyone makes stupid assertions:

I am a former member of the American Gunsmithing Society
I'm a US veteran and I've owned many, many, firearms over
the years, none of which negates the fact that I don't
think the current crop of mental midgets in western society
is capable of responsibly owning firearms.
