Frédéric Mitterrand sticks Marion Cotillard with a medallion. I think he was so excited about having an excuse to look at her chest, he forgot what he was doing.........
STORY:
"Oscar-winning actress Marion Cotillard's facial reaction to receiving France's prestigious Order of Arts and Letters appeared to border on ecstatic. That is, until Culture Minister Frederic Mitterrand -- who was pinning the medallion on Cotillard's chest -- realized he had accidentally stuck the actress with the medallion's pin. The reaction was, unfortunately, due to actual pain.
Cotillard, along with director Tim Burton, were honored on Monday in Paris. Cotillard's reaction soon turned to laughter after Mitterrand realized the error in his aim.
Cotillard was awarded the title of Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres while Burton was given the title of Officier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. There are three levels of the Order of Arts and Letters: Chevalier, Officier, and Commandeur -- Commandeur is the least awarded of the three. The award was established in 1957 and recent past recipients include: Bob Dylan (Commandeur), Clint Eastwood (Commandeur), Van Morrison (Officier), George Clooney (Chevalier), Kylie Minogue (Chevalier) and Jude Law (Chevalier).
The French born Marion Cotillard won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2007 for "La Vie en Rose."
The American born Tim Burton is the reigning king of the box-office for his directorial work on "Alice in Wonderland." Burton said, "France has such a special place in my heart and I feel much more at home here than I do my own country and I always have," after accepting his award. Tim Burton is the reigning king of the box-office for his directorial work on "Alice in Wonderland."
