A 17-year-old girl was arrested for OWI in Ashwaubenon, Wis. after nearly hitting a police officer head-on at 70 mph. The incident happened Sunday night, during a drunk driving crackdown that coincided with the Packers-Giants football game. The officer involved in the close call was on patrol for the Brown County OWI Task Force. According to Ashwaubenon Public Safety, the 17-year-old driver was going the wrong way on Highway 41 when she nearly hit the officer’s squad at 70 mph. The teen was cited for OWI, driving with an open intoxicant, driving the wrong way and driving without a license, registration or proof of insurance. Her name has not been released, but police expect she will be charged as an adult.
