A look at aerial gunnery via helmet cam
Came across a thread regarding basic procedures of a door gunner in combat. Someone was nice enough to provide an example.
This was recorded during some qualification fire at Gila Bend AFAF. Video includes loading, firing, reloading, plus status calls. However, it is noted that not every unit does things the same way.

I always wonder when they use tracer on the enemy from a helicopter, at night. Tracers work both ways, they say, and if you are the door gunner you'd have to be instantly prepared to spray lead at anything on the ground that even looks like a muzzle flash.
I also can't help but but wonder how many times the gunner's dropped the ammo can while changing it. I would, because i have the motor skills of a 4 year old. Hopefully it doesn't then bang into the helicopter and just falls on the head o More..

@Hitler_Is_Amazing The ammo can once fell out of our helicopter when i was shooting, i thought i was gonna get my ass chewed. But they didn't care. Changing barrels though, is hard s**t. You don't wanna drop a barrel.

Oh i love how the yanks waste millions of dollars on nothing!! They can launch 5 bombs and hundreds of rounds on 1 terrorist!!! but can´t nothing in their own backyard!! Yes most yanks will hate what i say!!

Try reading the description before responding. It specifically says that this was recorded during a qualification exercise. The location, Gila Bend AFAF, is in Arizona. This isn't the Middle East and he isn't shooting at live targets.
