@FarkinAye I'll give you that. A one handed, arms length, ram-rod straight aim. Obviously he had superior military weapons training. I especially liked his sport coat. Added a certain savoir-faire to the usual urban guerrilla warfare ensemble.

It looks like the ceramic cup is holding back some kind of spring under tension. I reckon the idea is that when thrown the cup smashes and releases the spring powered detonator. Quite a clever design for an improvised striker fired impact fuse.
I don't know this for sure, never seen such a device before but can't see it working any other way. If you look closely there appears to be a T-shaped bar protruding from the top of the cup which must have a hole drilled in it. Not easy to se More..
