Yes, I do think US meddling in the Middle East has caused alot of this hatered. They certainly do not hate US just because they are free or wealty, because there are alot of free and wealty nations that are are not hated by the fundamentalists (take Sweden for example). Its mostly the same countries that have been meddling in Middle East that get targeted by the fundementalists. Just a coincidence, huh?

Agreed, Dat1111. This vid is a nice capsule of political history. Few voters in america were alive when our government was trying to secure our energy security. Don't know if we did it in the best way - as we see the 'blowback' still. As for Islamic fundamentalism, much if that is seeded in Wahabism, a splinter of Islam distilled in the 19th century. So, Liveleakers, be careful to not mix apples and oranges when talking about the Iraq war, or anything political in that part of the world.

oil IS the reason for islamic fundamentalits to direct hate toward the western world. If it wasnt for the western worlds involvement in the middle east we wouldnt even be a blip on their radar but because we are in the middle east we attract their attention. Why cant people just accept that we need the the oil, its a horrible thing to steal it from them through violence but at the end of the day we need it. Its either them or us as terrible as that sounds. We keep them down in order to build ourselfs up. People complain that we are doing terrible things by being in iraq... yeah its not nice but its necissary! Thats the world we lve in, its not all roses. Why else are we still there, why are we there longer than the duration of WWII. Smart people that run this western world have worked it so we can have the lifestyles we have and we should be thankful for that. Thankful that they took and protected oil. Thankful that they spun information to the public in order to get the backing to allow them to protect oil resources. thankful they manipulated the middle east against each other for our own benifet. And thankful that they bought down the twin towers because with out the event we wouldnt have the backing to go into iraq/afghanistan, we wouldnt have the oil, ecconomy would be destroyed and all you people lucky enough to have computers wouldnt be able to afford them. OIL- Its better us than them. And no there is no way we can share it and still enjoy the lives we live. If you think we should pull out of iraq, ask yourself are you willing to sacrifice half your income to bring the troops home? because it will have the same effect.

^Nice point, Skotup. They wouldn't be on the radar screen if it wasn't for oil. Additionally, oil money in the wrong hand is best exemplified by bin Laden. Only until we have a dedicated effort to shift motor fuels from oil base to alternative bases, we will have to play the game with these people.

look at it this way - You have a slice of bread with mould growing on it. The mould lives happily with enough food for days untill the mould have covered the entire slice. Now the mould doesnt have enough food and its fighting against each other for food and cannot prosper. You can put another slice ontop of that mouldy slice to give the mould more food and hence more comfort in life.... untill you have 2 completely covered slices of bread covered in mould and no more food for the mould to eat. But with technology the mould is capable of reaching the rest of the loaf with vast amounts of food where it can live a great life with plenty of food for weeks. Well; we, the western world, are a slice of bread and the middle east is another slice of bread, who should get it? better us than them........................................... This is also why it is impossible to eliminate poverty - add another slice of bread and soon you'll just have twice as many people living in poverty as you did before, youve doubled your problems. Should we allow the middle east to multiply and burn more fossil feules? thats no good for us at all. Horrifying but thats reality.

It's all about US/Christian domination of the world. The CIA established freedom fighter camps to indirectly battle/weaken the USSR (Bin Laden and company). Now that the "cold war" is over, they (CIA) have turned their sites on the Islam world. The Freedom fighters are now classified as terrorists (i.e. al qaeda). In fact, all forms of terrorism (large/small) are being related to the al qaida. It's a great way of creating this huge, ever-present terrorist scare.
