WABASSO — Lutreana Woulard said Tuesday she’s still feeling the effects of an uppercut she suffered during a robbery last week outside a Wabasso convenience store.

The pain dug deeper when taunts came from people in her Wabasso neighborhood.

“They were calling me ‘YouTube Trina,’ ” said the 52-year-old woman who was hospitalized at Indian River Medical Center a couple of days for her injuries. “Someone told me Sunday they saw me getting hit online.”

A man in a black T-shirt and long shorts with a blue backpack shouted “You think I’m playing?” when he punched Woulard. At least one witness was shown riding a bike in the background of the video and the voices of a couple of men are heard. The incident happened outside the Wabasso Foods store in the 6400 block of County Road 510 on May 17.

“What kind of man hits a 52-year-old woman?” Woulard said. “How could you stand there and watch a man hit a woman on the ground?”

Woulard said she had $7 cash and $16 worth of scratch-off tickets on her at the time. She said she had dropped a couple of the tickets when the man in the video grabbed them.

Indian River County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Deputy Jeff Luther said deputies investigated the incident last week. The man in the video claimed Woulard struck him with a beer bottle during an argument, Luther said. However, the man told deputies he declined to have Woulard prosecuted.

Woulard said she may have bumped the man in the mouth with her elbow in self-defense, but denied striking him with a bottle.

“He was the one (who) walked up with the liquor bottle,” she said.

Woulard did not speak to deputies about the fight last week, but asked them this week to consider charges, Luther said. The State Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case.

Woulard said she suffers from neck pain and a broken toe from the incident. She said she was told a friend took her to the Indian River Medical Center after she was knocked out.

“I remember waking up at the hospital,” Woulard said.

“I’ll never look at it again,” Woulard said.
