A drag racing exhibition ended in death at a Florida race track on Sunday.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says 52-year-old Christopher Gould was pronounced dead at Moroso Motorsports Park where he was racing.


Parachutes on his car didn't deploy when he was slowing down, forcing Gould to lose control.

The car overturned several times, and Gould was thrown from the vehicle.

Deputies say the man's car reached speeds of about 270 miles-per-hour before the crash.

Authorities are investigating.
