Crazy Driving in Downtown Cairo
 Part of channel(s): Yoursay (promoted)

Was recently talking with some LL members about driving in Egypt so I thought I would post a vid. Cheers

Sahar, my dads girlfriend is driving us through downtown Cairo right around the pyramids and I can honestly say I have never been closer to death. Driving in Egypt is insane and this clip shows how driving there is organized chaos. Sahar weaves through traffic, cutting of 18 wheelers and other cars without even batting an eyelash. She drives like many other people there and you are lucky to actually see one of the only roads in the city that has lanes painted on the street...iv dove many nutty things from diving with sharks, to white water rafting the grand canyon and can genuinely say I have never been more scared than driving with that woman...

  • It seems to me that this woman is about the only one driving like that. She is obviously a complete fuckwit.

    • lol, you sound like an idiot when you say "radical Zionism" but yes i talk to her alot about the Israeli Palestinian conflict...we have drastically different views but then again she was taught in grade school that they won all the wars with israel and that they "let" the Israelis have Sinai peninsula...so i cant take her arguments to seriously

  • Seriously, the girl in this video should say a prayer before she climbs in this car with this lunatic. The guy drives like an absolute mad man. Hey dude, since this video started you've been cutting off everyone and speeding like the girl riding shot gun is giving birth.

Jesus, take it easy Earnhardt. You're gonna kill somebody.

    • I get your point but traffic is traffic. Is it too much to ask to show some damn patience? This driver was either showing off or suicidal.

    • Yeah and aggressive drivers are the ones who tend to cause fatalities. Fact. Kudos to her for nothing other than endangering the lives of everyone around her. She's a professional idiot.

    • It's just the way the road system works in some cities. I can safely say Buenos Aires and Mexico City both drive in very similar ways. Lan lines don't exist, indicators aren't used (horns are used instead to simply warn that you are approaching from behind.

To people used to order and road rules, it seems insane, but if I'm not mistaken research on the differing methods have shown that the incidence of accidents or injury are much the same in both styles. There's a system within the chaos, an More..

  • This is how it is to drive in any large Middle Eastern city. You get used to it after a while.

  • It seems to me everyone else was driving normally except your idiot friend giving you a ride. If it was my friend id have told her not to put my life at risk. But I guess you found it funny.
