Falling? The US political spectrum is different than everywhere else. In the USA, Obama is considered a Marxist -- in Canada, he's considered fairly right wing, policy wise.

It would never work...
Can you imagine the US acting sensibly on the world stage, not going to war or forcibly imposing their will on others, especially if they have something the americans want.
No more banging their own drum going; "We'r USA, #1!".
And instead going; "We'r 5 % of the worlds population, now we'r gonna act like it by shutting up and minding our own business."
What a ludicrous notion, it's just too rational to ever work.

@Maineyack I know. I was trying to think of a sentence where we would say it but couldn't think of any. The word does get used though. Weird I wonder if you can call it a word.
