Syria - UN Observers inspect the town of Tremseh (Good Quality - 7/15/12)

The integrated patrol, comprised of specialized civilian and military
experts, observed over 50 houses that were burned and/or destroyed.
Pools of blood and brain matter were observed in a number of homes.

The
consistent account relayed by 27 local villagers, interviewed by the UN
Team, indicates that the attack commenced at 5am Thursday morning on 12
July.
It began with the shelling of the village followed by ground operations.

According
to those interviewed, the army was conducting house-to-house searches
asking for men and their ID cards. They alleged that after checking
their identification, numerous were killed. Other men were taken out of
the village.

On the basis of some of the destruction observed in
the town and the witness accounts, the attack appears targeted at army
defectors and activists.

UN Observers also confirmed the use of
direct and indirect weapons, including artillery, mortars and small
arms. A Free Syrian Army leader, Saleh al-Subaai, was confirmed shot
dead. A doctor and his children were killed when a mortar shell hit
their home.

The number of casualties is still unclear. The UN Supervision Mission in Syria (UNSMIS) is trying to seek further verification.

The
UN Supervision Mission in Syria calls on the Government to cease the
use of heavy weapons in population centres and take all necessary
measures to reduce civilian casualties. UNSMIS urges the Parties to end
the violence and pursue a peaceful Syrian-led transition that truly
meets the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people.

The Head
of the UN Supervision Mission in Syria, Major General Robert Mood,
announced on Friday (13 July), in a press conference, that the UN
Mission stands ready to send its Observers to Treimseh, despite the
Mission's suspension of activities, if and when there is a ceasefire.

UNSMIS
received information that a ceasefire was in place on Friday and
immediately conducted a reconnaissance patrol in the area to assess
access to the village and establish contacts with local Parties.

An
11 vehicle integrated patrol, comprised of specialized military and
civilian observers, arrived in Treimseh, 25km north-west of the city of
Hama, on Saturday (14 July) on their first mission to ascertain the
facts on the ground.

They declared it a civil fucking war and instituted Geneva laws.. Not a massacre of innocents, they were deemed combatants. Now Assad has a foothold he didn't previously.

  • Cannot trust anything posted by FSA. Not even news. They twist it, lie, and alter videos. The people killed in that place were fighters. They were massacred and it was a good job. They were not civilians. It's propaganda and the UN never found any evidence of civilians being killed. All mainstream news is reporting that the FSA was not telling the truth when it spoke about a civilian massacre.

U.N. waltzed in saw that the massacre propaganda was FSA fueled lies. Walked away declaring they are full of shit and then stating this is now clearly a civil war uprising not a revolution of the people. That speaks volumes considering they were completely fooled and supported the FSA just hours previous to stepping foot on the site. Assad deserves to be ousted but anyone who waited to pass judgement until some of the propaganda smokescreen cleared now have a clear view of who w More..

ah yes nice research...horrible war crime ,unfortunatly the town was shelled by howitzers given to saddam by the wise and powerful uncle sam..sad but true.I think it is also a well established fact that this madman was supported thoughout the iran iraq conflict again by the US (i beleve a picture of rumsfeild and saddam shaking hands is widely available)
its a pity that larger more powerful nations (not just the US by the way) have always chosen to bend twist and break international la More..

  • The video records a very targeted operation with minimum collateral damage.

What it doesn't show is the huge arsenal of weapons, bombs, and ammunition recovered from the terrorists.

It also shows evidence of schooling by the FSA for the descriptions given by the villagers. No-one's experience is the same yet everyone told the same story.

Yeah, an education by fear & gunpoint. FSA terrorism & propaganda has no blinders on the UN anymore. AQ inspired warfare/tactics by the FSA are exposed. This is simply a Sunni vs Shia civil war. They never had a chance or hope once AQ got involved w/ the FSA rebellion. Syria has no hope for any semblance of normalcy now.

  • " They alleged that after checking their identification, numerous were killed. "
"the attack appears targeted at army defectors and activists. "

    - So not aimed at random civilians, then.

"A Free Syrian Army leader, Saleh al-Subaai, was confirmed shot
    dead."

    - Well targetted operatipn then....
