@DirtyUncleBerty As you've discovered, alcohol may provide temporary relief from anxiety, but the long term effect on brain chemistry is to create more anxiety. It's a vicious cycle. Best to get into a good 28 day program to dry out then find a PhD psychologist and get CBT psychotherapy for the anxiety. If you have to have meds then try to find a psychiatrist who will not just pump you full of benzos (benzos are basically an alcohol substitute in the brain).

I have tried everything big pharma has because of this condition and that one. Real conditions - depression for decades, diabetes, high blood pressure, back. Stuff that i would not wish on my worst enemy. I don't smoke weed anymore and wouldn't even know where to find some. When you need the cure and you need it now, booze is the fastest way to instant relief. Don't worry, i live within walking distance of a liquor store.
Coincidence? I think not.
