Rebels of the Al-Awfiyah Brigade of Tarhunah take over Libya's international Tripoli airport after clashes with security, in protest at the arrest of one of their prominent members without charge by the central security. All inbound and outbound civilian flights were blocked. The clip was filmed from the door of an Austrian airways flight stranded on the tarmac shortly before takeoff.
The attack resembles a recent attack on the prime minister by former rebel brigades who still regularly fight each other. Few of the rebels have laid down their weapons since the ousting of Muammar Gaddafi, and the country struggles to find direction.
