@GhostMan Libya didn't really have any backers besides a bunch of sub saharan african countries run by dictators. Syria has Iran and Russia who don't want to see US/Nato forces in there..that doesn't necessarily mean those govt.s support Assad though. The US had alot to say on syria...until the Israelis decided that they prefer Assad as a neighbor as opposed to a democratic govt.
